About Basedi Learnership
The Basedi Professionals Training Facility is a Pretoria-based training provider established in 2020. It primarily offers learnerships in agriculture for unemployed South African youth. Anyone can sign up for its life-changing programmes for free. Basically, the organisation aims to elevate youth across the country with knowledge and skills in agriculture.
By completing these courses, Basedi expects all participants to be able to access the workforce and market themselves either as excellent job seekers or creators. Basedi applies private funding from a group of companies within and from outside of its network to sponsor the training programmes. Consequently, students can enjoy a basic education in agriculture for free.
Although it is intended to be an introductory class in agriculture, the learnership is not just about farming or farm management. Rather, it considers the wider agri-food industry, with the focus on production agriculture and other related issues such as environmental, countryside protection, and animal welfare.
Also, the training teaches students how to supply to the consumer as it is the basic chain of the economy which are necessary to learn. Eventually, all those lessons will shape them to become successful individuals, both personally and professionally. Specifically, Basedi provides all participants with art-of-the-state resources that enable them to effectively complete a 12-month course in agriculture.
Also, they will receive an incentive of R 500 after every three months, payable in the four month. However, this incentive is only available for those who succeed in completing and passing twelve weekly tests.
