In 1976, in the small town of Skuldelev in Denmark, 10 owner operated hauliers joined forces and founded DSV – De Sammensluttede Vognmaend (The Sammensluttede Hauliers). Since then, DSV has evolved to become a world-leading supplier of transport and logistics.

As a freight forwarder, DSV does not own or operate transport equipment; actual transportation of goods is carried out via DSV’s global network of partners and subcontractors (carriers and hauliers).

Young DSV Training Program
The program for young freight forwarders in DSV is a 2-year journey. During the 2 years, you will receive a lot of practical on-the-job training in a local DSV department. The theoretical part of the Young DSV Program consists of 8 different modules conducted by a Danish business school.
- Module 1: Introduction to forwarding
- Module 2: General freight forwarding
- Module 3: Road transport / Air and Sea
- Module 4: International payments, CMR and Dangerous goods
- Module 5: Logistics
- Module 6: Warehouse and terminal
- Module 7: Multimodal transport
- Module 8: Final project and exam
During the program, you will also receive training from experts within the industry and the business. You will have regular follow-up meetings with your immediate manager in order to ensure that you are on track and that you improve your skills according to the plan. You will complete a final project followed by an exam. When you have passed the exams, you will receive a formally recognized qualification which proves that you are a fully skilled DSV freight forwarder.
