1. Engineering
The following positions are available in Exxaro vacancies in this period:
- Senior Reliability Engineer
- Rock Engineer
As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be required to develop, maintain and improve safe operational and engineering standards. On the other hand, a Rock Engineer is responsible for promoting legal compliance to Mining Health and Safety Act with regards to rock engineering aspects in an uncertain statutory environment.
To qualify as a Senior Reliability Engineer, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A bachelor or honour degree in Engineering
- A government certificate of competence in Engineering
- Have completed a Management Development Programme
- 6 to 8 years of working experience in a relevant job

A Rock Engineer’s task entails providing Rock Engineering Support to Senior Rock Engineer and deliver Rock Engineering Training across the group to all underground operations.

- A bachelor or honour degree in Civil Engineering or Mining Engineering or Geology or Engineering Geology

- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in operational mining geotechnical

3. Mining
Exxaro is looking for a responsible candidate to fill its vacant position as an Environment Specialist in its Mining Department.
As an Environment Specialist, you will be required to support the development of environmental policies and procedures and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and requirements to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
To qualify, please fulfil the following requirements:
- A bachelor or honour degree in Environmental Sciences or Nature Sciences
- Certificate in First Line Management
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in environmental operations
- A certificate from the South African Council for Natural Scientific Profession

5. Supply Chain Management
Exxaro’s Supply Chain Management Department is in need of a bright individual to fill its vacant spot as a Buyer.
The purpose of the job is to ensure effective and efficient execution of operational, repair, maintenance and support goods and services buying tasks for allocated purchasing groups.
The following requirements must be met if you want to be qualified for the position:
- Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate
- Certificate in Purchasing & Stores Management
- 3 years of experience in Relevant Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance or Buying
- Understanding of Enterprise Resources Planning and/or Cloud-Based Procurement Solutions (e.g. SAP MM, Coupa)
- Competence in SAP Position Specific Module
- Computer literacy
6. Sustainability (SHEQ)
Exxaro is looking for a responsible candidate to fill its vacant position as an Occupational Hygiene Specialist in its Sustainability Department.
As an Occupational Hygiene Specialist, you’ll be required to identify and control health hazards in the workplace and co-ordinate the Occupational Hygiene function within the Business Unit.
Fulfil the following requirements to qualify:
- An advanced certificate in Mine Ventilation
- A certificate in First Line Management
- International certificate in Mine Environmental Control
- 3-5 years of relevant occupational health experience in mining or industrial environment
- MHSA Section 121(1)(Occ. Hygiene)
- A degree from the accredited South African Institute for Occupational Hygiene
