Purpose of Role
The Claims Assessor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth processing of funeral, hospital, life, dread disease, and disability claims. This includes obtaining all necessary documentation from clients, conducting thorough assessments, and providing timely feedback to clients throughout the claims process. The individual will be responsible for managing their pending claims efficiently to meet turnaround time targets.
Key Performance Indicators
- Finalization of valid claims in a fast, efficient, and qualitative manner.
- Explanation of the claims procedure to clients and thorough interviews to gather necessary information.
- Requesting outstanding documents from clients and maintaining regular communication regarding claim progress.
- Monitoring and managing pending claims effectively.
Minimum Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in assessing funeral, hospital, and life insurance claims.
- Matric qualification, with at least one year of experience in the insurance industry.
- Tertiary qualification advantageous.
