The Digital Academy is looking for motivated young people who have a talent for software development. In response to the widespread shortage of digital expertise on the continent, the Academy has a mission of providing young people with growth opportunities through education that is incentivized and in partnership with like-minded corporations. The learners of the Digital Academy gain hands-on, practical development skills through an intensive learnership program where they apply their knowledge to creating real-world, commercially viable products.
Software Development
Software Development encompasses the steps of designing, developing, and maintaining software. This encompasses requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, and maintenance phases with the ultimate aim of creating top-notch software that addresses user needs and solves problems. Developers utilize programming languages and tools to construct applications for desktop computers, mobile devices, and the web. They must ensure the software they create is efficient, secure, and user-friendly. In today’s ever-changing tech world, ongoing learning and adaptation to new technologies are vital for success in this essential field.
Requirements for Digital Academy Learnership
To be eligible for the Digital Academy IT Learnership, applicants must have South African citizenship, have completed Grade 12/Matric or a post-Matric qualification, have basic programming skills, be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old, currently unemployed, and not enrolled in any other learnerships.
