Eligibility: Join the Thuthuka Programme If You:
To be eligible for the Thuthuka Bursary, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- South African Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Black African or Coloured: The bursary is open to individuals who identify as Black African or Coloured.
- Educational Background:
- Either in Grade 12, having completed Matric within the last two years, or currently a university student pursuing a CA-stream BCom degree.
- Minimum Mathematics Requirement:
- A minimum of 60% (5 or above on the NSC scale) in Mathematics in Grade 11. Note: Maths Literacy and Technical Maths learners are not considered.
- Application for a BCom Accounting (CA-stream) Degree:
- Applicants must have applied or be in the process of applying for a BCom Accounting (CA-stream) degree at a SAICA accredited university offering the Thuthuka program.
- Family Income:
- Candidates should come from a family with a combined annual income of R350,000 or less.
- National Benchmark Tests (NBT):
- Applicants are required to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before the end of August or submit their results if already taken.
Requirements: Documents and Additional Information
In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria, applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Completed application form
- Certified copy of ID
- Certified copy of Grade 11 results
- Proof of application to a SAICA accredited university for a BCom Accounting (CA-stream) degree
- National Benchmark Tests (NBT) results or proof of registration to write the NBT
