About PEP Stores

PEP is a multinational retail company based in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 1965, PEP operated in 11 countries in Southern Africa with the opening of an outlet in Lobito, Angola in November 2008.

As of November 2009, the company reported over 1,400 stores in operation, with total employment equalling 14,000 employees. It also owns and runs the largest clothing factory in southern Africa, where it manufactures much of its clothing.

1. Project Manager of Sales Department

PEP Stores’ project managers complete and master all aspects of an intensive hands-on sale operations programme that equip them to fulfil the role of PEP Regional Sales Manager. Although a project manager usually doesn’t need to perform the hands-on tasks involved in a project, you are required to possess some degree of knowledge with regard to the various aspects of a project.

Occasionally, PEP Stores look for a project manager to be responsible for supervising the company’s ongoing projects, especially those of the sales department’s. In this job, you will be working closely with your team member to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines and schedules are on track.

Responsibilities include increasing sales, minimising stock loss, managing a low-cost business, ensuring administrative duties, leading a dynamic team and overseeing all aspects of the people support function.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Retail, Management, Business or Operations

2. PEP Store Manager

A PEP Stores manager is responsible for leading a store team to meet the business targets, including driving sales, cost control, mitigating risks and stock loss, administration and ensuring world-class store standards.

As the store manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the store. Your duties will include minimising stock loss, managing costs according to the company’s low-cost culture, driving efficiencies in the store and ensuring administrative duties according to the company guidelines.

The ideal candidate must be able to improve customer satisfaction and meet monthly sales goals. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a business or retail-related field of work
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • One or two years of experience in a retail environment within a leadership role
  • Computer literacy
  • Passion for retail

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

3. Receptionist/Admin Clerk

PEP Stores receptionists complete all the administrative tasks of the distribution centre, order and stock control, receive guests and visitors, purchase office’s consumables and manage supplier documentation.

Also known as admin clerks, they are required to perform some quality control tasks, source and follow up on suppliers’ quotes and invoices and carry out ad hoc tasks as required.

PEP Stores are searching for professional receptionists from time to time to oversee all the above administrative and clerical duties. If you are a detail-oriented professional with proven clerical experience, then you probably are the perfect candidate that PEP Stores are looking for.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least three years of experience in a distribution centre environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to speak in English and isiZulu
