Job Opportunities Available in Sasol Vacancies

1. Management Accountant

As a management accountant, your duties will include recording and crunching numbers, helping to choose and manage company investments, risk management, budgeting, planning, strategising, and decision making.

Your most important job will be conducting a relevant cost analysis to determine the existing expenses and give suggestions for future activities.

To become successful in this role, you’ll need knowledge of economics and accounting, administration skills, analytical thinking abilities, ambition and a desire to succeed. Sasol requires you to at least possess a bachelor’s degree and two years of management accounting or financial management experience.

2. Administrative Assistant

Most of Sasol’s administrative assistants’ duties revolve around managing and distributing information within the company. They generally include answering calls, taking notes and maintaining files. Also, they may be in charge of sending and receiving correspondence, as well as greeting visitors and customers.

To stand out from most candidates, you’ll have to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. 3. Artisan

Sasol’s artisans maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment as well as low and high-level electrical equipment. Also, they are tasked with performing messenger or driver duties, collecting and delivering tools and equipment for the department.

To become an artisan, a degree is not the only qualification you have to obtain. Sasol also requires their potential candidates to previously taking some artisan courses to increase their marketabilities.

According to these policies, the minimum requirements of becoming an artisan in South Africa are a minimum of 40% in Mathematics at Grade 9 or National Certificate (Vocational) Level 2.

4. Financial Accountant

As Sasol’s future financial accountant, you’ll be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of the company. You’ll also be required to analyse the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments. It’s your job to enable those departments to make budgeting and investment decisions.

The skills and abilities needed to become a successful financial accountant include an excellent understanding of accounting principles, good analytical skills and an eye for detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also needed to help you excel in the role.

5. Electrician

Electricians are responsible for installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems and fixtures in buildings. Also, they are tasked with installing conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables. Ensuring piping complies with electrical codes is also part of electricians’ key duties.

In this role, you will need the following technical skills to succeed, including installing and maintaining electrical systems, using and maintaining hand and power tools and repairing wiring systems. Moreover, a good electrician needs to have strong mathematical knowledge, physical dexterity and a safety-first mindset.

6. Mine Overseer

As part of the role of a mine overseer, some of your duties will include maintaining health and safety by ensuring that standards are adhered to and improved upon in the section and managing the operation of the section by allocating work plans to shift supervisors.

To apply for mine overseer jobs, Sasol usually requires all applicants to possess a certificate in Mine Overseeing. It will be advantageous if you earn a bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Mining.

7. Technician

Technicians are skilled workers that work with complex systems or perform highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests. Sasol’s technicians are tasked with installing new products, educating the client on how to use and maintain their device and performing maintenance.

Sometimes, they’re also required to provide customer support, diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them.

To become a technician, you will need to have these essential skills, including problem-solving, physical ability, attention to detail and versatility. Though experience is important, Sasol gives preference to job applicants with some college education.

8. Electrical Engineer

Electrical engineers design, develop, test and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment. They also draw up plans using computer assisted-engineering and design software to assist their jobs. Estimating material, construction and labour costs are also part of their core duties.

To do well in this role, you should be a licensed professional engineer and have extensive experience as an electrical engineer. Proficiency in design and calculation software is a must, too.

9. Chemist

Sasol’s chemists conduct experiments in labs to analyse substances, develop new products or improve existing ones. The company is always on the lookout for some dedicated, analytical chemists to be responsible for studying the chemical make-up of materials that are essential in the manufacturing business.

In this job, you should be analytical, detail-oriented and logical. Moreover, you should be dedicated to furthering scientific knowledge and improving Sasol’s products.

10. Customer Service Specialist

As a customer service specialist, you’ll process complaints and issues related to Sasol’s products or services. You’ll help customers complete purchases, upgrades and returns.

Also, you’ll be required to frequently provide advice and technical assistance as well. Sometimes, Sasol requires its customer service specialist to provide training to new hires.
