If you are thinking of relocating somewhere for a better career, then Malta could be the place for you! But, before we go any further, you’d better know the best things you can get by working in Malta.

Why Malta?

The top reasons to choose Malta for an overseas career can be its laidback lifestyle and temperate climate. Additionally, the booming economy is a favorable factor to work in Malta. Besides, the other factors acting in favor of the country include the tax structure, low cost of living, and the quality of life. In fact, the World Happiness Report 2018 ranks Malta to be the 22nd happiest country in the world. Also, a high standard of education and health facilities are available to everyone.

The indices for Malta are comparable to the best countries in terms of cost of living, safety, health, freedom, environment, and climate. An InterNations survey of 2017 of expats from 191 countries revealed that 92% of expats were in favor of Malta because of its weather and the ease of settling down in the country.

So, without further ado, let’s check out the jobs that are high on demand in Malta at the moment.

What Jobs are in Demand in Malta?

1. Blockchain Developers

Malta is currently on track to become the first country in the world to legislate in favor of blockchain technology, ICOs, and cryptocurrencies. This means that it is fast becoming a hot-bed for crypto and related industries. Good blockchain application developers are hard to come by and while there are many app developers around, finding ones with the right specialty is hard. This is an exciting new sector in Malta and demand and salaries are high for skilled individuals.

And, one of the places where you want to peek at is Binance. Particularly, Binance is a cryptocurrency exchange that provides a platform for trading various cryptocurrencies. In addition to the booming gaming industry, IT departments in financial services companies heavily recruit individuals with skills in IT. Also, specialized IT services companies are working hard to employ bright individuals. Fascinatingly, due to the high demand, salaries and benefits are in general significantly higher than averages in other industries.

4. Web & Graphic Designers

With so many digital industries making their mark in Malta, there is a big demand for people to create artwork to reflect the power of the brand. Particularly, freelance, agency, and in-house graphic designers are highly sought-after to create logos, web graphics, and other promotional materials. Hence, if you are someone skilled, then Malta could be the perfect place for you to spread your wings.

5. Accountants

Interestingly, the Maltese financial services industry has witnessed rapid growth over the last decade. • Estimating project expenses for project managers and clients

As such, you must know how to design, build and execute both front-end and back-end applications.

7. Doctors

Additionally, the salary of a doctor in Malta starts at €6,000 per month. And, while this amount doesn’t seem like much, it actually comes with a lot of perks that reduce your expenses. Therefore, you’ll have more of your income left at the end of each month than you would with other positions.

For example, doctors in Malta are often offered the following perks:

  • Fully-furnished accommodation with complimentary cleaning services and catering
  • Free transport to and from work
  • Medical insurance
  • Thirty days’ worth of paid leave
