What is Old Mutual?
Old Mutual Limited is an investment, savings, insurance, and banking firm with operations across Africa. John Fairbairn established it in 1845 in South Africa.
In 2018, Old Mutual launched a new strategy known as managed separation, which involved separating its four companies – Old Mutual Emerging Markets, Nedbank, UK-based Old Mutual Wealth, and Boston-based Old Mutual Asset Management (OMAM) – into separate corporations.
